#36 - French Ormolu Clock With Musical Box Base, Circa 1820

This is the exact same clock which is pictured in Arthur Ord Hume's "Collecting Music Boxes and How To Repair Them" 1967 book published by Crown Publishers, Inc.  (Figure 11).

Gilded clock case with figure of dancing woman on top.  Base is oval mahogany, clock is fusee chain wind.

Overall Dimensions:  9 7/8 x 5 7/8 x 14 1/2  inches

Music cylinder - 2 1/2"

2 songs selected by lever.

Segmented comb - 17 segments, 4 teeth each.

Baseplate is stamped 'M. Bordier'.

There is no (and never was a) mechanical connection between the clock and the music box mechanism.

Clock section is not working.  Glass dome is included, but not exactly the right size.
